PresCare is a Ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland and has been caring for Queenslanders in their communities for over 90 years.
Vela is one of the most established aged care facilities in Queensland. We offer excellence in all aspects of care, including our specialities in the sub-acute, palliative and dementia fields. PresCare strives to explore new concepts in care, and we provide consumers with choice and control for living well and independently. Our people take pride in their flexibility and range of residential and community services.
In the bustling Brisbane suburb of Carina, you’ll find PresCare Vela – 154-bed residential facility which also includes a 30-bed special care unit for those diagnosed with dementia.
All of Vela’s single rooms have en-suites, air-conditioning and ceiling fans and some (on an upper floor) have balconies. Each wing contains cosy lounge and intimate dining areas, alongside well-appointed activities areas, all designed to nurture a sense of community and encourage connection and friendships.
Family and friends of our residents are always welcome to visit and are encouraged to make full use of the facilities such as the BBQ area, our beautiful lush gardens, the cinema or our purpose built function room. Not forgetting our very own Explorers Café (with a children’s play area), which is located in a picturesque garden courtyard and open 7 days a week.
Other amenities at Vela’s residential facility include a fully-equipped gymnasium in which our physiotherapist provides tailored care to residents, plus a private chapel and on-site chaplain.
Our facility at Vela, like all PresCare facilities, has a pleasant home-like atmosphere with trained staff catering to the needs of our residents. Our facilities are fully accredited with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
Find comfort in knowing that in the Vela residences you will be offered excellence in all aspects of care, including specialties in the sub-acute, palliative and dementia fields.
All this provided by one of the most established aged care providers in Queensland.
The palliative care service is a very important part of their service when the time comes, as it must.
