About the National Rental Affordability Scheme
Available via the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS), PresCare has 40 two-bedroom units in Rockhampton and 23 two-bedroom units in Maryborough. These units were built on land provided by the Presbyterian Church of Queensland and funded through NRAS by the Australian Government in partnership with the Queensland Government.
These units were designed with senior living in mind. It was important to PresCare that they were not only visually appealing, but also practical for older occupants. The spacious homes have wider hallways, easier access to bathroom and kitchen facilities and large windows to draw in the natural light.
PresCare sees NRAS-funded developments as a natural fit in our mission to care for older Queenslanders.
NRAS sought to address the shortage of affordable rental housing by assisting community organisations and businesses to build and rent homes to low/moderate income households. The scheme also aimed to reduce rental costs for low to moderate income households; and encourage large-scale investment and innovative management of affordable housing.
