Situated in the leafy Brisbane suburb of Sherwood for more than 20 years, Sherwood Place has been supporting people to be socially connected and to live independently the way they choose. A community-based organisation, Sherwood Place provides a range of Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) services – including respite, allied health and domestic assistance – to people aged 65 and over, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 and over, and their carers.

Weekly excursions are conducted to a variety of locations around South East Queensland, including museums, parks and art galleries. This is usually accompanied by a meal or coffee.
Delicious morning tea and nutritious hot lunches are provided, and enjoyed together in our dining room. Our menus are updated regularly, in consultation with a dietician to ensure they are balanced, nutritious and meet all dietary requirements
If you live in our local community, we will collect you from your home in the morning and take you home in the afternoon. Bookings are essential.
Fees and charges
Sherwood Place is covered by the government funded Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) for eligible clients. However, fees and charges may apply for some activities, dependant on the funding that you have been approved for.
Private payment for clients who are not eligible for this funding is also available.
Home Care Package (HCP) funding may also meet your respite needs, in collaboration with your HCP provider.
We welcome personal visits to Sherwood Place, to discuss your specific needs and take a tour of the centre. To arrange your visit, please contact Site Coordinator, Brooke Nolan.
