PresCare Groundwater Lodge

Situated on leafy acreage in the Granville suburb of Maryborough, PresCare Groundwater Lodge is set in a relaxed country environment that creates a sense of peace and tranquillity.

With individual rooms and private en-suites providing residential care for 60 (including 20 beds in a dementia specific area) accommodation at PresCare Groundwater Lodge is arranged in small wings to create a feeling of neighbourhood and community.  Walkways are provided throughout for ease of access to central courtyards as well as to outdoor BBQ areas where families are always welcome to enjoy time with their loved one in our care.

Knowing how important it is for our care recipients to be comfortable and feel like they are living in a home away from home, we encourage families to bring in personal items to decorate their rooms– things like photos, paintings, a favourite throw rug, music, a pot plant or flowers.

Meals are cooked on site and served in dining rooms allowing care recipients to connect with each other.  But if preferred, a care recipient can also choose to take their meals in their own room. Family members are always welcome to share a meal with their loved one, and private nooks are available for these occasions.  Talk to our care staff or Receptionist, and they’ll make all of the arrangements for you.

Personal items are sent to the main laundry on a daily basis.

Care at Groundwater Lodge is based on a model of ‘Transforming Care at the Bedside’, a pro-active philosophy where staff conduct regular checks in anticipation of addressing the needs of care recipients before they have to ask.  Care and services are provided by qualified, highly trained and skilled staff.  Registered nurses are trained to provide palliative care as well as general nursing care, and they work closely with general practitioners, geriatricians, medical specialists, nurse practitioners and allied health staff.

PresCare Alexandra Gardens

Our commitment to residential aged care led to the establishment of Alexandra Gardens in North Rockhampton over 50 years ago, and PresCare has remained an integral part of the Rockhampton community ever since.

The care and services we provide at Alexandra Gardens are based on the needs, preferences and choices of those that we care for.  There is residential care for 94 residents in a homely and comfortable environment.  Located in three small wings and four courts, single or double rooms are available, all air-conditioned and with en-suites. Walkways are provided throughout for ease of access to central courtyards, and the entire complex is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. Outdoor BBQ areas provide entertainment space for our residents and their families to enjoy.

Because we want our care recipients to always feel very much at home, families are encouraged to enhance their rooms with personal items – things like photos, paintings, a favourite throw rug, music, a pot plant or flowers.

All meals are cooked on site and served in dining rooms, or if the care recipient prefers, in their own room. Family members are always welcome to share a meal with their loved one, and private nooks are available for these occasions. There is some flexibility in meal times, particularly breakfast.  Personal items can be laundered in the main laundry or smaller on-site laundries are also provided if the care recipient likes to do their own laundry.

Care and services at Alexandra Gardens are provided by qualified, trained and skilled staff.  Our registered nurses are trained to provide palliative, dementia and general nursing care, working closely with general practitioners, geriatricians, medical specialists, nurse practitioners and allied health staff.  Our care recipients also benefit from an innovative and unique program created by Alexandra Gardens, which allows those who become acutely unwell to stay in the home rather than be admitted to hospital.  This sub-acute care initiative is award-winning and recognised nationally.

Supporting our commitment to ongoing learning and innovation, registered nurses from Alexandra Gardens work collaboratively with the Central Queensland University for research and training purposes. Clinical placement for nursing, dental and allied health students is also provided by Alexandra Gardens.

PresCare Lake Sherrin

Located on the main thoroughfare between Redland Bay and Brisbane City in the bayside suburb of Thornlands, PresCare Lake Sherrin is a residential facility providing full-time care for 48 residents (including 12 dementia care and one respite bed).

Situated on picturesque acreage, PresCare Lake Sherrin is surrounded by beautifully lush gardens, a lake, and abundant wildlife, creating an atmosphere that is peaceful and relaxed.

In a facility comprising four adjoining lodges, accommodation consists of single rooms, each with their own en-suite.  And because we want our care recipients to always feel very much at home, we encourage families to decorate their rooms with personal items – things like photos, paintings, a favourite throw rug, music, a pot plant or flowers.

At Lake Sherrin, there are two important things that drive what we do: providing a caring and friendly atmosphere where residents are involved in decisions relating to their health, care and social needs; and making sure that our care and services are based on the needs, preferences and choices of the people in our care.

Meals are served in community dining rooms, in a resident’s room, or can be enjoyed with family members in private nooks. There is some flexibility in meal times, particularly breakfast.
