Protea by PresCare

Whilst Protea might be brand new, PresCare has been a leader in aged care in Queensland since 1929 and we bring 90 years of experience with us as we open this new facility.

Moving into residential care is a big step, not only for the older person, but also for their family and friends. That’s why we focus, not only on providing the highest quality of care, but also to helping our residents stay connected. We want our residents to stay connected to the people who are important to them and have created a range of spaces to spend time together including a spacious roof top garden and large terraces on each of its five levels.

Memories are precious and often connected to treasured items. We invite our residents to bring those special things with them that will help them to feel more at home.

We also want our residents to remain connected to the activities they love. Our dedicated Activities Coordinator will take time to get to know the interests of each resident and work to ensure they can continue to pursue them. Our Activities Centre offers a range of programs to assist our residents to remain active and engaged.

The health and wellbeing of our residents is our number one priority. As well as offering 24 hour nursing care, Protea has a Day Therapy Centre that enables residents to connect with specialists who will assist them with their individual needs.

Our Pastoral Care team are here to connect with residents and assist them with their emotional and spiritual well-being. They take time to build relationships with each resident and can connect residents with religious services or simply offer a listening ear.

Social outings

Fulton Place conducts group excursions weekly. And because we strongly believe in clients staying connected to their local communities, local events are incorporated into our weekly program from the range of activities to choose from. Shorter daily outings are also part of the weekly recreational program. Contact us if you would like an example copy of the program or sign up to the Fulton email to receive our social activity schedule that changes weekly.

Delicious home-style meals are prepared on site and enjoyed by our clients in the large and comfortable dining area. Our menus are updated regularly, in consultation with a dietician to ensure they are balanced, nutritious and meet all dietary requirements and clients are encouraged to participate in meal selection and preparation if they choose. All individual tastes and dietary needs are catered for.

Transportation to and from Fulton Place is available at reasonable cost. Bookings are essential.
