Restricted Access to all PresCare Residential Homes from Thursday 26 March 2020
As the COVID-19 coronavirus situation evolves, we want to reassure you that we are implementing all possible methods to prevent the spread of this new illness in our facility and to protect our residents, staff and the wider community.
There are currently no known cases of any of our residents or staff testing positive to COVID-19 at any of our locations. The health of our residents and our staff looking after them is our number one priority. Therefore, due to the rapid spread of COVID 19 and the known risk to vulnerable people, our residential homes will enter into a period of stringent access controls from the above date.
This means that essential visitors only will be allowed to enter facility from Thursday 26 March 2020.
Essential visitors include:
• Staff (including agency staff)
• Medical and other health practitioners
• Tradesmen/contractors for essential services only.
Alternative arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis in the event of special circumstances, such as an anniversary or birthday, or should there be any deterioration in a resident’s condition or an end-of-life situation.
These restrictions apply immediately and will be reviewed at the end of April 2020 or earlier if required.
PresCare understands this change will have a significant impact upon many residents and their families. We are delivering additional electronic devices such as iPads so that there are more options to connect. We also strongly encourage our families where possible to provide their loved ones with devices e.g. smart phone or electronic tablet. Please remember that phone calls, emails, and video connections are crucial at this time. Physical distance does not need to equate to social isolation.
The health and safety of residents is our first priority and we appreciate your support in the measures we are taking to make our homes the safest possible place for older people to be. We appreciate your support during this challenging time for our community.
