What do the classes involve?

Hydrotherapy is a form of physiotherapy and is held in a heated pool by a qualified physiotherapist.

Group and individual sessions are held in a hydrotherapy accredited pool, which is maintained at 32°C. This is the ideal therapeutic temperature for treatment and rehabilitation of injuries.

The activities will be tailored to each person’s ability. Activities may include:

  • gentle stretching
  • upper and lower limb resistance
  • exercises to improve range of motion in joints
  • water walking
  • balance and coordination exercises

All equipment is supplied. Please wear your swimwear and bring a towel, water bottle, non-slip footwear, swimming cap (optional) and any other personal grooming needs for after the session. Please don’t bring valuables into the pool area.

What are the benefits?

Hydrotherapy can help to:

  • relieve pain due to the warmth and support of the water
  • mobilise joints
  • relax muscles
