Support for these Core Values
We value persons as made in the image of God
We see each person as being unique, with a unique personality and gifts that they can use. We believe that each person accumulates an experience of life and there is something about people that reflects the character and being of God in a way that no other part of creation does. We believe therefore that to treat people with respect, sensitivity, care and support is consistent with this, and is following the model of our Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to see and encourage the personal growth of all – staff, customers, management, board members, service providers etc is consistent with the above belief.
We value community
When God said, "It is not good for man to live alone", He was expressing a truth, which extends beyond the marriage relationship into the various communities in which we live. Communities provide us with support, stimulus, security, love and a place to exercise commitment to others. PresCare functions as a community or collection of communities. We feel that the proper response to that is selfless service of all who make up those communities, where we can have the mind of Christ who did not grasp onto his own status and position but gave himself for others.
We value service
Perhaps the most uniquely Christian value that we can bring to any situation is an attitude of servant hood. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. He exercised this service within relationships with others; he gave, and he gained from those around him, and he was focussed on people. We therefore believe that quality service for all with whom we come in contact is a major key core value to encourage.
We value stewardship
We accept that the resources that we use – whether they are people, buildings, time and equipment, etc are a gift of God and we want to see them used responsibly and well. This will involve innovation and creativity and we see that the encouragement of these attributes reflects the character of God in people – God who created this wonderful world and all its variety.
