| History | PresCare is a well established community and aged care provider celebrating 75 years of experience in 2005 in delivering compassionate care and developing new ways to deliver this care. Provided below are some of the highlights of the Presbyterian church and PresCare's rich history.
| Year | Details |
| 1837 |
- Minerva McArthur was born at sea on the passage to New South Wales on 22/12/1837. Two days later she was baptized by Rev. Christopher Eipper. This is the first recorded action in the name of the Presbyterian Church within the northern part of New South Wales (now QLD).
|
| 1911 |
- Presbyterian clergyman, Reverend John Flynn, took up his first appointment at Beltana Mission in the north of South Australia. He went on to organise the lease of an aircraft from the newly formed 'Q.A.N.T.A.S.', with which a rudimentary 'Flying Doctor' service was formed.
|
| 1930 |
- Mr W.R. Black donated to the Presbyterian Church of Qld (Department of Social Mission "DOSM") two homes for use in the care of the elderly. The homes were named after Governors General and distinguished 'Sons' of the Presbyterian Church, 'Hopetoun' in Chelmer and 'Stonehaven' (later separated from DOSM) in Oxley. This began the great Ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Aged Care.

Mackay and Gold Coast. |
| 2009 |
- Stage One of Carina Project completed by March 2009. A 154 bed complex incorporating a Nursing Home and Hostel. Planning underway for Stage Two. |
Throughout the years, the one thing that has never changed is the need for compassionate care within our society. As a social mission, we are as relevant to the Community of Queensland now as never before.
As we advance into the new millennium, we look forward to spearheading further innovation and aim to set even higher standards for ourselves.
W.R. Black would be thankful that his support of the Ministry Vision, so long ago, continues to bear fruit and create meaning in the lives of so many.
